ACTION ALERT: Advocate for Afterschool Programs in the State Budget

ACTION ALERT:

Advocate for Afterschool Programs in the State Budget

Governor Baker kicked off budget season in Massachusetts when he released his budget proposal for FY 2022 last month. Unfortunately, his proposal would cut funding to the After School and Out of School Time Quality (ASOST-Q) grant program (line item 7061-9611) by over $8 million. The ASOST-Q line item is the only statewide funding streaming dedicated solely to afterschool and summer learning programs. These programs have been absolutely vital during the COVID-19 pandemic, doing their best to keep students safe and stem learning loss. They need as much support as possible as Massachusetts prepares to recover. Take action by clicking on this link and filling out the form on the next page to let your State House Representative know that they should INCREASE funding to afterschool and summer learning programs this budget season.
